Whisky Tasting Evening
British Friends of Boys Town Jerusalem celebrated Yom Yerushalayim – the anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem – with a whisky tasting evening at the home of Richard and Juliette Reingold. A whisky expert from Glasgow travelled down to London especially to talk about and present six malt whiskies to over 50 supporters of the charity.
An auction which included Club Wembley seats for England v Mexico and a bottle of extremely rare whisky, as well as a raffle helped ensure that over £3000 was made from the event. Profit from the evening will help enrich the lives of poverty – stricken Jewish boys at Boys Town Jerusalem, one of Israel’s leading and most dynamic educational residential developments.
Laurence Stein, Development Director of British Friends of Boys Town Jerusalem said following the event, “ I think that it is extremely important that we celebrate Yom Yerushalayim, and to hold a whisky tasting evening in order to raise funds for disadvantaged Jewish boys who study at Boys Town Jerusalem in Bayit Vegan seems especially appropriate. I was delighted that Richard and Juliette Reingold were willing to hold this event at their home as their son, Ariel, recently twinned his barmitzvah with a boy from Boys Town Jerusalem.”
