About Us
British Friends of Boys Town Jerusalem was established in the early 1960’s in order to enrich the lives of Jewish boys and young men who studied, prayed and in many cases lived at Boys Town Jerusalem.
Little has changed; the remit for British Friends of Boys Town Jerusalem remains the same, and our aims today are as relevant as they ever were. We are unwavering in our support for disadvantaged Jewish boys for whom Boys Town Jerusalem is their haven.
We organise events, contact potential donors and appropriate Trusts, send out fundraising appeals, and rely heavily on supporters leaving a donation to the charity in their Will.
British Friends of Boys Town Jerusalem is especially delighted when young people choose to be associated with the charity, whether it is by twinning their barmitzvah with a boy at Boys Town Jerusalem, or by raising money from a sponsored event.
Our Chairman, Lee Reuben, has an involvement with the charity that goes back many years. His grandfather was an active supporter of Boys Town Jerusalem, and there is a plaque in his grandfather’s honour on one of the walls of the campus in Bayit Vegan.
Our Development Director, Laurence Stein, has worked within the Jewish community since 1990. A former Advertisement Manager of Jewish News, he joined British Friends of Boys Town Jerusalem in 2006, due to the fact that he wanted to help young, disadvantaged Jewish children who were not as fortunate as his own.
British Friends of Boys Town Jerusalem is based in a small office in London. The overheads are minimal, as the charity is intent on sending as much donor money as possible to Boys Town.
