Bowling Success
It was with much trepidation that I set out to Hollywood Bowl in Finchley in December in the hope that I could help British Friends of Boys Town Jerusalem become the first charity to retain the Maccabi GB Inter-Charity Ten Pin Bowling trophy.

I wasn’t overly optimistic, our leading bowler from our 2009 triumph was unable to bowl, we’d struggled to even put a team together, and other charities wanted to win almost as much as we did!!
Lee Reuben, Chairman of British Friends of Boys Town Jerusalem, agreed to bowl, but warned me in advance that it was many years since he’d last played.
The omens weren’t good, but that didn’t matter, because incredibly we did repeat our 2009 success, narrowly beating League of Jewish Women (men’s team) and CST in the process.
Maccabi GB organise this event really well, and it is wonderful that about 18 Jewish and/or Israeli charities are eager to get together and take part in this exciting challenge. It really is great fun (especially when we win!)
